There are a lot of power struggles that can happen. Between parents and children or bosses and employees.
If there is a power struggle in your life, you have the ability to end it. Especially if you're engaged in a power struggle with a child or youth.
Look at power struggles like pulling on a rope. Imagine you and one of your children are on opposite ends of a rope. You're standing on milk crates and pulling against each other on the rope.
Let go of the rope.
When you are pulling on the rope, and so does the other person, it just builds.
If you let go of the rope, the other falls off the milk crate.
The goal is not to outsmart them. Your goal is to be the bigger person.
